Students initiative In Palliative (SIP)

Students' Initiative in Palliative (SIP) is an initiative by the young, vibrant student community of the college. The unit will be instrumental in ensuring consistent involvement of students in spreading awareness on palliative care, hands-on patient care and mobilizing volunteers, material and financial resources. SIP will be engaged in organising affordable support program for the palliative care needy people in the locality. The campaign helps the students to identify a genuine opportunity to better their own lives and of the community as a whole. Participation of student community in palliative care is possible as Social participation towards a common public, which will help mould an integral character of student communities around the society.

Objective

  • To ensure student involvement in palliative care.
  • To explore the possibility of replication.
  • To impart training to volunteers on palliative care.
  • To create a sense of social and civic responsibility in students.
  • To encourage community participation in the palliative care activities.
  • To provide services to the bed-ridden patients with incurable diseases.
  • To organize awareness campaigns to popularize palliative care among the student community
  • To assist in the rehabilitation of the patients
  • To serve Home Care Service of Palliative care societies in the locality.
  • To make the students aware of the community in which they work and their relation to the community.
